Life is usually not easy. Guess what? It never has been. Not since the Garden of Eden. There is sickness and death. And pain and problems, catastrophes and calamities, temptation and failure. The Good News is that in the midst of this, there is a God who is sovereign and He, in His mercy and love, has always had a redemptive plan for mankind, including you and me. He has given us the promise of eternal life through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, a guide book for living in the Bible, and He has given us the Holy spirit to guide us through the days of our life.

How do we respond to such a God? The best model that we have is found in THE BOOK of PSALMS, which can also be called THE BOOK of PRAISES. The people of God have used it as their basis of worship and praise for centuries.

This study will focus on some of the poems/songs found in the second section of this timeless book – chapters 42 – 72. There are psalms of wisdom, praise, lament, repentance, trust and hope. There are psalms that point to Jesus and psalms that will help you express your thoughts and feelings to the God who created you, knows you, and longs to be in a relationship with you.

May you “find rest in God alone” where you need that peace and may you experience our strong and loving God each day as you pour out your heart to Him. (Psalm 62)

Sincerely, Marilyn Miller
