Usually women love new things – new clothes, new jewelry, a new hair cut, or perhaps a new friend. We like to see new places, try new restaurants, and enjoy new experiences. But when it comes to new ideas and ways to look at life, sometimes it’s a different story. Why do you think that that is true? One very clear reason is fear. It can be frightening to learn that there is a better way to do something. Another reason is our resistance to change. It’s easier to stay with the known than to move to the unknown or risk the unexpected.

When Jesus began to preach and to teach in the cities and synagogues, there was an unbelievable amount of resistance, wasn’t there? He told the people that He was bringing them GOOD NEWS, and to those whose hearts were prepared for the Messiah, His news of the arrival of the kingdom of God was exactly what He called it – “Good News”. For those who had their own ideas and plans for this event, it was too much for them and so they resisted the truth and held on to their old ways of thinking.

Human nature has not changed much over the centuries, has it? The Scriptures are full of good news for us and too often we choose to remain ignorant or to hold on to our own viewpoints. Jesus says that there is new life to be found in Him; there’s a new commandment that we are to follow; there are new concerns which are important and that some day there will be a new heaven and a new earth. He promises to renew our strength and to renew our minds and spirits through the work of the Holy Spirit.

Wouldn’t you like to explore what the Bible has to say about seeing life from God’s perspective with eternity kept clearly in focus. This study just may change some of your thinking, but to become a new person in Christ would bring real purpose and great joy for you. I pray that you will find this to be true.
