It has been said that “we can live 40 days without food, 8 days without water, 4 minutes without air, but only a few seconds without hope.” Having hope is really far deeper than wishful thinking -”I hope the traffic will not be heavy today.” It is more than the happy anticipation of something good – “I hope you get an answer to your question soon.”
Did you know that in Scripture God is called the “God of Hope”? Hope is a part of God’s character and it is His desire that His children reflect this in their lives. In fact, He promises to give us hope through Jesus Christ, His Son. C.S. Lewis says that “he who has God and many other things has no more hope than he who has God alone.
As you embark on the study, I pray that you will discover new facts and insights about the subject of hope. But, much more than that, I pray that “the God of hope will fill you with joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
